About Me !
When I started, there were no text, audio or video or audio-visual tutorials to show new webmasters how to do
anything... but I did have manuals, LOTS of them and in my own geeky way, I would read them through, cover to cover
until I thoroughly understood the software, the concept, the method, the information or whatever was in that
particular manual.
I KNEW what I wanted to do but I had no idea of HOW TO ACHIEVE IT.
I didn't know how to build a web site, I didn't know what HTML, FTP, domain names, web
hosting, or any of those other terms meant.
I wanted to build a sustainable income that would allow me to work from home whenever I could make the time
!
At that time when the internet was relatively new, I was a young Mum who had CHOSEN to stay at home to raise my
two children, I LOVED every minute I spent with them and wouldn't have changed a thing.
For many years I had long evenings when they were safely tucked up in bed to slowly build up my knowledge
of computers, software, the internet, websites, graphic design, etc.
I was always 'the one' with the camera in my pocket, the one who stood around with the video, the one who
captured as many magical family moments as I possibly could.
Of course, once I had captured all those digital moments, I then needed to learn how to share them, so,
along came MORE manuals to build up my knowledge of image editing, video editing, sound editing and putting
them all together into presentations. Then of course, as my knowledge grew, the manuals weren't enough, I needed
more information, and faster, so started with the online courses, I took course after course, whatever I needed to
know, I found a way of learning it.
I VOLUNTEERED to make photo and video presentations of the athletes at my kids' High School in the UK,
throughout each semester, three times a year, for FOUR YEARS, I took HUNDREDS of photos, video'd
HOURS and HOURS of sports events and matches, then, at the end of each semester, I edited them together
into a presentation that was shown on large plasma screens throughout the school at the prize giving and awards
ceremonies for parents, students and teachers.
I burned each presentation onto DVDs that were bought by the parents as souvenirs, all proceeds
going back to the Booster Club that supported the student athletes. It was volunteer work and I loved it but
quite honestly, it took over my life and I was quite relieved when my kids graduated high school and moved on to
university.
However, after all the time and effort I had put into starting this project, I couldn't let the
programme disappear into nothing so I worked with the students 'after school ' video/photo club until they
were able to totally take it over my project, a whole classful of supersmart, digital savvy technophobe teenagers ,
FINALLY taking over what I had been doing single handed for over four years !!
What BLISS!! Time, once again on my hands, even MORE so as the kids were now away full time, so, WHAT
NEXT ??
So, here I was, my kids were now in University and I wanted to be sure I could help them deal
with their growing up and leaving home issues, their self belief, their traumas, their emotional issues, so then
came my interest in psychology.
I trained as an NLP Practitioner, Time Line Therapist and Hypnotherapist and as they were now away from home
full time, I could move into real time training and I loved it !
A natural progression for me AFTER I completed my training was to move my interest in
NLP and Hypnotherapy into a website, Exploring Hypnotherapy.
Suddenly, it all seemed to fit, all the technological things I have learned so thoroughly over the years
and are now so easy for me are all coming together. I have the time to travel, and the capability to keep
earning an income through the internet when I choose, how I choose and where I choose.
I saw the opportunity to make money online and I learned it thoroughly, I LOVE to read and I just keep learning
and collecting information all the time. My friends know that if they have a computer problem, a technology
question or an internet question, that I will most likely be the one to help them out.
It sems that this has been a pattern for me all these years, I learn, but then I feel
the need to share so I find a way to do that too !!
So, this is me, that's what I do, I learn, (usually the hard way) and then I share, finally it has all
come together!
WELCOME to my World, and
WELCOME to my presence on the World, Wide Web !!
